All my drivers are up to date but my screen shows little blue boxes all over it.
If I run it in VGA mode it works fine, minus any sort of large display settings of course. Once I run in regular mode, the screen goes black.
Once I take away the graphics driver it runs at 800×600, then I add the driver and “bam”, screen goes black.
Also when I run in command prompt, it seems to add a bunch of random “n”‘s to the screen…..?
My guess is graphics card, or motherboard? I’ve tried old drivers and new drivers to see if that makes any difference, but no.
Any advice would help, please!! I miss my computer!!
Hi Alex,
My first guess would be it’s a video card problem and if you are sure the drivers are good then the card itself may be broken.
Check the following items though:
Is your power supply providing enough fuel for the video card? (You probably want at least a 450 watt supply)
How much RAM are you running and is it installed correctly?
Does the Video Card need to be plugged in? Some video cards behave strangely when they’re not plugged in to the power supply.
Do you have any other similar video cards around? Plug one in and if everything is working well it very likely a shotty video card.
Does the video card have any kind of warranty? Contact the person or company that sold it to you and ask them about the problem.
